Our ethics

Reviews.Memorial exists to help funeral homes invite honest feedback with the gentleness families deserve. That only works if the system itself is trustworthy. So these rules are built into the product, not just written on this page:

• No fake reviews. We never write reviews for families or on their behalf.
• No incentives. No discounts, gifts, or donations in exchange for reviews — the product blocks that language.
• No review gating. Every review request includes the Google review link. We never route "happy" families to Google and unhappy families elsewhere.
• No star-begging. Messages ask families to "share your experience" — never to "leave us 5 stars."
• No pressure. One initial request, and at most one gentle reminder. Then the system stops.
• Do-not-contact first. Staff can exclude any family where follow-up would be inappropriate — a dispute, an unusually sensitive loss, or a family's stated preference.

Using do-not-contact for legitimate sensitivity reasons is contact suppression, not review gating. Using it to filter out families you think were unhappy would violate both our terms and Google's policies.
